Bringing you reassurance, comfort, and understanding when you need it most

Let’s start with this reminder: you’re right where you need to be. If you’re reading this, that means you’re looking for answers, seeking support, or searching for shared experiences. I’m here to help with that.

Your concerns, your struggles, your fears – they’re all valid.

Your aches, pain, and symptoms are real. The neverending Google searches are overwhelming. The unanswered questions are frustrating.  The effort to build different habits is exhausting. I hear you, I believe you, and I understand you.

And though I didn’t set out to become a health coach, my life called me to it. I was a former educator living with chronic illness, just trying to find the right people to help me along a path to recovery (and eventually, I did).

While it was painful and hard, it’s brought me here. My own journey, along with education & training, has made me both uniquely qualified and absolutely certain this is what I am meant to do.

Speaking of qualifications, we should start there.

Trained and certified by the Functional Medicine Coaching Academy (FMCA)

The only coaching program in collaboration with the Institute of Functional Medicine and approved by the National Board for Health & Wellness Coaching (NBHWC) , FCMA is the gold standard for the educating, training, and clinical practice in functional medicine globally.

Member of The Health Coach Alliance (HCA)

The Health Coach Alliance empowers and supports the role of  registered health coaches and champions a future where their assistance is a standard in healthcare. While online health coaching is an unregulated industry, HCA ensures ethical & educational standards.

Retired public school educator

My commitment to service and education isn’t a newfound hobby, it’s been my lifelong passion. A passion that has left me with unique skills and strategies, along with the  patience, organization, and communication needed to guide someone step-by-step in the learning process.

MY MISSION

Using my shared experiences & true devotion to holistic wellness,  I am here to support you as you regain autonomy of your health, make informed lifestyle choices, and restore your wellbeing.

(and maybe even have a little bit of fun doing it!)

What I value most

health

After all, isn’t that what has brought us together? To me, health is not just an end goal, it’s a daily choice. I’m committed to your journey as if it’s my own as we make wellness a part of your every day.

SUPPORT

The chances are that you’ve been advocating for yourself for a long-time now (I know I did). When I think back on my own experience, I wish I had someone in my corner checking in, sharing info, and encouraging me. Now I want to be that for you.

COMPASSION

This is a safe space of respect and of understanding – the kind that only someone who has been through it herself can have. Every session is rooted in humanity, empathy, and openness.

CURIOSITY

Your path to wellness will rarely be straightforward. For myself, it took hard work and an insatiable thirst for answers. That’s why I encourage you to get curious and become a student of your own body.

My story

How does a happy, healthy 50-year-old mom go from running marathons to being so weak she couldn’t walk across a Whole Foods parking lot?

  • That woman is me. And while my story is one of illness and pain, it is also one of resilience, discovery, and healing.

It started with a raspy, deep cough. Combined with digestion issues with constant bloating and aches. I had severe sinus infections that required surgery. What should have been a six week recovery from surgery took one grueling year and eventually, another surgery.

  • It didn’t make sense to me.

It didn’t make sense to me. How did my sinuses become so infected? Why was I still feeling so poorly? I thought I’d never feel well again. Here I was a shell of my former self, with no real diagnosis, but still in incredible pain. I used the last of my energy to start a search for answers.

I found my nose buried into the book that would change everything. As I flipped the pages of Toxic by Neil Nathan, everything clicked. I had mold toxicity. And while I felt relieved for the first time in years, I needed to know more.

  • I hunted for every book and article on mold toxicity.

I traveled across the US & Canada to search for specialists. My hunt brought me to two Functional Medicine Doctors, one in Vancouver and one in Calgary who specialized in mold toxicity. They ran tests that I had never heard of and gave suggestions for what to do next. As my search continued, I found myself in the caring & compassionate hands of another functional medicine specialist in Colorado where we discovered I had Lyme disease along with Epstein Bar Virus and a myriad of other co-infections.

From there, little by little, my healing began.

Functional medicine was able to do something mainstream medicine couldn’t - uncover the root causes of my illness.

While no recovery looks the same, I believe the more we share, the more we learn.

We’ll create your own personalized plan based on your needs, lifestyle, diagnoses, and more. Some steps are quick & simple, while others feel huge and take time. Together, we will figure out a plan that works for you.

In the spirit of transparency, here’s a peek at 16 steps over the years that have added up to my recovery from chronic illness.

01

FUNCTIONAL MEDICINE DOCTOR

For lab testing, holistic diagnostics, and individualized protocols.

02

clean air

Home tested for mold (it was positive) and we moved out. This was one of the most challenging things for my family and me. Try to ensure clean air - do ERMI testing and sleep with an IQ Air.

03

clean food

Organic, gluten-free, dairy-free, low sugar – you name it, I did it! And do I have recipes for you!

04

clean water

Investing in a water filter of some sort! I use a tap water filter from Kangen.

05

SUPPLEMENTS

Testing will reveal your insufficiencies. I added digestive enzymes, hormones, minerals, & more!

06

Iv treatment

My Functional Medicine Doctor recommended weekly IV’s with a Meyer’s cocktail, a mix of electrolytes, antioxidants and vitamins along with glutathione for detoxification.

07

movement

From slow walks and easy stretches when ill, to hiking, barre exercises and weighted workouts when feeling healthy.

08

MINDFULNESS EXCERCISES

Meditation & yoga helped with my stress levels when sick and I’ve studied Buddhism, yin yoga, & other mindfulness since.

09

NUCCA CHIROPRACTOR

I received precise, gentle, & non-invasive adjustments for a misalignment causing nervous system interference by  a member of the National Upper Cervical Chiropractic Association (NUCCA)

10

Dynamic Neural Retraining System

DRNS, founded by Annie Hopper, is a specific way of calming & regulating the nervous system. Classes are in-person and online.

11

INFRARED SAUNAS

These were crucial when detoxing from mold toxicity, I followed them with binder products (clay, charcoal, aloe).

12

LYMPHATIC DRAINAGE MASSAGE

The lymphatic system helps remove waste & toxins from the body. Massages or at-home dry brushing help with fluid build up & inflammation.

13

SINUS SURGERY

Mold invaded my sinuses and required two painful surgeries – my left maxillary sinus was black for years. Today, it’s a healthy pink!

14

TOOTH FILLING REPLACEMENT

Outdated dental amalgams (metal fillings made with liquid mercury) were removed & replaced with composite fillings by a holistic dentist.

15

SOMETHING TO LOOK FORWARD TO

Even when feeling ill, I connected with friends and family who lifted me up and helped me heal.

16

GRATITUDE

I practiced when I was sick, finding little joys where I could. I still practice today, with a new outlook on life and an immense amount of gratitude for my restored health.

Cultivating a life of health & wellness takes a village.

From doctors to specialists to coaches, there is a community of people out there ready to use their expertise to enrich your journey and nurture your progress. I’d be honoured to be one of them.
